MORNING CARE

MCPK offers early morning care for those families who need child care before school hours. Families can sign up for Morning Care from 7:00 am to 8:20 am. Morning Care is run by the MCPK faculty and provides fun and games, quiet activities and arts and crafts for the children while they wait for the school day to begin. Families are welcome to bring in breakfast for their child. Children must be registered to attend Morning Care and a fee will be added to your tuition bill. If your child is registered for Extended Care, Morning Care is included in the fee.

Families registered for Morning Care should arrive no earlier than 7:00 am and bring their children directly to the front door. Please drop your child before 8:20 am for Morning Care.

*If MPS has a delayed opening due to inclement weather, morning care will begin at 9:00 am. Only families that are enrolled in Extended Care may attend Morning Care on a delayed day.

AFTER CARE

MCPK offers After Care for those families who need child care after school hours. After Care is run by MCPK faculty and a team of Extended Care teachers who implement a separate program from the school day. Children spend time playing in classroom centers, enjoying outside time on the playground and engaging in games, dancing and projects. Daily snack options are provided for children in After Care. Children can also eat their own snacks from their lunch boxes.

The After Care program runs from 2:30 pm –6:00 pm. Parents can pick-up their children anytime before 6:00 pm. Please note: Parents/caregivers are asked to make every effort to pick up a child on time. A late fee of $1.00 per minute is imposed if children are picked up after 6:00 pm. Please have an alternate pick up plan for days when you may be delayed.

The fee for Extended Day Care is listed on our tuition schedule HERE. Please note that there is a sliding scale for Extended Care that is similar to our sliding scale tuition for the school day program.

Please note that children who have a difficult time adjusting to the rules and routines of the school day may not be a good fit for our less structured After Care program. If your child has a challenging day(s), we will contact parents/caregivers to discuss a plan for After Care. Schedules at MCPK are flexible and can be adjusted to meet the needs of children and families.

ON-DEMAND EXTENDED CARE (Punch Card System)

The punch card system is intended to assist families who may need an extended day for their child on an irregular basis. Families will be able to begin purchasing punch cards the first week of October. To use the system a family must purchase a card with a block “punches” on it. The prices are 5 punches for $150.00 and 10 punches for $275.00. The punch card can be used for the following:

· For Early Morning Care from 7:00 – 8:20 am
· To extend a half-day to a full-day (12:30 pm pick up to 2:30 pm pick-up)
· To extend a half day to a full day plus After Care (12:30 pm pick-up to 6:00 pm pick-up) NOTE: THIS WOULD COUNT AS TWO PUNCHES
· To extend a full day to After Care (2:30 pm pick up to 6:00 pm pick up)

The availability of punch cards for After Care each day is based on current staffing conditions and the number of children in each After Care group. Parents will be notified if any changes to the policy are made.
